Pablo the Inca Egg, happy after receiving a Sunshine Award.

I’ve put this blog when WordPress created the theme Duotone, which I thought was just nice and simple. Sure, sometimes the automatically generated one-colour background might be a bit odd, but nothing’s perfect anyway. And it does enhance the photos in the way they’re displayed.

So far, so good. I’ve been having a great time sharing experience and learning more things from other people’s blogs. Here’s a thankful nod to “the ineffable literary pixie giant goddess that is Sheena” at BookFreeq. References like this one are a sign that what I’m doing might be useful (or at the very least entertaining) indeed.

Also probably due to the fact that I often write some things along with the photos, World Sketches has been kindly chosen as  Editor’s Picks a few times and featured on the frontpage, which I obviously appreciate. So far the featured posts were:

Just another Bolivian dawn
The Incas and a hike to remember
Flea markets: in the world of second-hand
Earth: no planet for old men
On South American music: the Charango

The Sunshine Award
I’ve been given a Sunshine Award (mostly a friendly form of saying “good work, keep it up!” from other WP users) from Desie (click here). The main rule with the Sunshine Award is for each awarded blogger to nominate also his/her 12 favourite blogs. So my selection is (no order of preference):

adventures on planet awesome
brush in hand
kurioso
maszrumz
melwyn around the world
muralees’ blog
my shutter speed
notes from the bartender
on travelling
ser viajera (la vida en viaje)
t. ramirez photography
zmcduffie’s blog

To the nominees if you ever read this: you do not have to link back at me or anything of the sort, for this. It’s merely something obviously very informal and just a nice way to give you recognition because I think you deserve it.

Até já!
